Volaris has always prided itself in being a company interested in helping to protect the environment and strengthening environmental awareness and for this reason, has decided to consolidate this interest with a series of strategies that are being implemented in daily operations, with concrete actions where Ambassadors, Clients, and interest groups all partale, through the “Por un Cielo Azul”. (For Blue Skies) Campaign.
Through more efficient routes and operations, we channel our responsibility efforts towards the environment, by adequately using our airplanes with the newest equipment and leading edge technology, thus reducing our emissions and sound footprints.
We pride ourselves for recognitions and activities throughout our company history including:
- The Green Airline Award for the Latin American region, presented by IATA in October 2008.
- The Volaris headquarter offices started a Carpooling program in February 2009, so our Ambassadors at our headquarters can share rides to work.
- Also in 2009, all bathrooms were outfitted with stickers reminding users to save light and reduce paper consumption.
- We’ve carried out Ambassador cooperation programs cleaning beaches and forests.
- We issue environmentally related information in our Volaris newsletter.
- Our internal communications screens include weekly information on caring for the environment.
- Crew members on all our flights issue reminders to our passengers on the environmental actions our carrier takes on as part of the “Por un Cielo Azul” initiative.
- Our fleet is new and fully equipped with low pollutants and low emissions technology.
